(1) Keep the instrument dry and not subject to corrosive gases.

(2) For equipment that has just been unpacked or not used for a long time, it is best to take moisture-proof measures before use to restore the insulation performance of the instrument.

(3) In order to eliminate the error caused by leakage, the instrument and the liquid container are placed in a clean plastic film and other insulating materials. The wires of the electrodes should not get wet. The container containing the test solution should be kept clean and the exterior should not be exposed to moisture.

(4) Do not use the conductivity electrode as a stir bar to avoid damaging the platinum black layer.

(5) When measuring a high conductivity solution, the measurement error is increased due to the capacitance and polarization of the electrode. To this end, the test solution can be diluted 10 times and then measured.

(6) When measuring the low-conductivity skin solution, it is necessary to prevent the carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air from being dissolved into the test solution to produce carbonate ions (CO3), so that the conductivity is increased rapidly. In addition, due to the strong adsorption of platinum black on the electrolytic layer, there is an unstable reading. Therefore, for a low conductivity solution (high purity water) it is measured with a bright conducting electrode.

(7) The conductivity electrode is selected according to the difference in the conductivity of the measured enthalpy. When measuring low conductance, measure the power supply with low frequency, monthly uranium electrode; when measuring high conductance, measure the power supply with high frequency, and use platinum-plated black platinum electrode. If the platinized black clamp electrode is found to be malfunctioning during use, it can be taken out and washed in a 10% glare salt solution for two minutes, and if it still fails, it should be electroplated.

(8) Stainless steel conductivity electrodes are suitable for use in neutral or near neutral solutions because stainless steel dissolves in acidic solutions. Platinum electrodes and platinized black electrodes can be used in all solutions except aqua regia.

(9) The conductivity meter (except for the conductivity trainer) measures the conductivity of the solution, multiplied by the constant of the conductivity cell is the conductivity of the solution.
