Infineon Introduces Mid- to High-End LED Lighting Multi-Function Controller Solution
On March 7, Infineon Technologies AG introduced a multi-mode flyback controller IC for LED applications. It reduces the "lighting time" of the luminaire, saves on the number of components, and reduces operating and standby power consumption. Designed to meet the performance and efficiency requirements of mid- to high-end LED designs , the IRS2982S is a versatile controller solution for a wide range of indoor, outdoor, office and factory lighting solutions.

The IRS2982S is equipped with a 600V high-voltage start-up unit, which makes the “lighting time†less than 0.5 seconds and saves the external partial resistor. The configurable critical conduction mode (CrCM) and discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) ensure that it meets a wide range of application needs and is suitable for dimming LED converter designs in the full current range. The main application of the IRS2982S is an isolated flyback converter in CV (constant voltage) mode. It can also be flexibly applied to non-isolated flyback converters, buck converters, boost converters and SEPIC in CC/CV mode. Other primary topology converters).
