Fossil Releases the First Sports Smart Watch Q Control
Fossil, a well-known traditional watchmaker, made a big announcement earlier this year. They revealed that by the end of 2017, they would be launching over 300 smartwatches across 14 different brands. Following that, they introduced a range of stylish smartwatch models, and now they've unveiled their first sport-oriented smartwatch: the Fossil Q Control.
The Fossil Q Control runs on Android Wear 2.0, making it compatible with both Android 4.3+ smartphones and iPhones. This opens up a wider audience for the device. In terms of features, it includes a built-in GPS chip, which works seamlessly with fitness apps like Strava and Google Fit. It also supports heart rate monitoring and allows users to customize the watch face, giving them more control over their experience.
Under the hood, the Q Control is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, paired with 4GB of internal storage. While the battery life is around 24 hours, it's important to note that this is when using the GPS feature, which can drain the battery faster than usual.
The Fossil Q Control will be available for purchase starting this week on the official Fossil website as well as other retailers. Priced at $275, it’s positioned as a premium smartwatch that combines style with functionality, appealing to both tech-savvy users and fashion-conscious consumers.
