1 Development status of power electronic equipment at home and abroad

In recent years, the performance and technical level of China's power electronic equipment have been significantly improved. The output of traction power equipment and electrothermal metallurgy and electrochemical equipment account for a large share. Digital AC, DC transmission equipment, static reactive power compensation equipment, high-voltage electrostatic dust removal, power recovery, high-voltage DC transmission and other equipment have been successfully developed. Various power supplies developed with IGBT devices currently occupy a certain market. However, compared with foreign power electronic equipment technology, domestic power electronic equipment technology lags behind the level of international developed countries on average by about ten years, which is equivalent to the international mid-1980s level.

At present, domestic power electronic equipment is mainly limited to rectifier power supplies using silicon rectifiers and silicon thyristors, DC drives and thyristor frequency conversion equipment, and high-tech products reflecting the development direction of contemporary power electronics are only in the research and development stage. Some large enterprises that urgently need new power electronic equipment (such as universal AC motor frequency conversion speed regulation equipment) have to import at high prices. Moreover, some old products such as DC drive equipment and large-scale rectified power supplies have been replaced by similar foreign products due to their poor reliability. At the same time, the supporting level of domestic power electronic products is low. So far, there is no supporting production of capacitors, inductors, resistors and transformers for power electronics in China.

The reliable operation of power electronic equipment is closely related to the normal operation of the national economy. Judging from the current development abroad, reliability test research will tend to be more comprehensive and reliability technology will tend to be more advanced. Computer simulation technology has been introduced abroad for test simulation and failure analysis; and the latest test methods in other disciplines have been applied Reliability of power electronic components and power electronic equipment.

The development of foreign power electronic equipment has matured, and its digitalization, modularization, serialization, and standardization are all very high. At present, its technical development is mainly to improve the communication ability and application scope of products, and the application ability of engineering applications. Expand application areas and markets.

The development of digital products in China is relatively slow, the technical level of the products is not high, there is no standardization, and there is a lack of stereotyped products. Moreover, the existing equipment products are very large in volume and have low technical content. In the future, we should strengthen the development of some high-tech products, and work harder in terms of reliability, volume and weight.

At present, another development trend of power electronic technology is medium and high-voltage high-power converter technology and low-voltage high-efficiency output converter technology. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is a hot issue of power electronic technology. 2 Output of power electronic equipment

2.1 Production of power electronic equipment in China in 1998

In 1998, 30 power electronic equipment manufacturing plants in the whole industry produced 7,365 power electronic equipments, with a total of 298,4117.8 kilowatts. Among them, 6714 sets of thyristor equipment, 1828887.3 kilowatts, accounting for 61.29% of the total equipment output of the year; 651 sets of rectifier equipment, 1155230.5 kilowatts, accounting for 38.71% of the total equipment output.

2.2 The output of each series of products

In 1998, the output order of each series of power electronic equipment products is listed in Table 1. A total of 37 series of 27 types of equipment products were produced. The largest output is traction power equipment, which is 1304768.0 kW, accounting for 43.72% of the total output of the equipment; the output of electrothermal metallurgy and electrification equipment ranked second, 1170344.9 kW, accounting for 39.22% of the total output of the equipment; Ranked third, 160120.0 kilowatts, accounting for 5.37% of total equipment output; AC motor speed control ranked fourth, 101910.0 kilowatts, accounting for 3.42% of total output, and other power equipment output fell to fifth place, 54227.5 kilowatts, accounting for total equipment output 1.82% of yield.

3 Analysis and forecast

3.1 Analysis of China's power electronic equipment production in 1998

Table 2 is a comparison table of the output of each series of equipment products in 1998 and 1997. It compares the increase and decrease of production of each series of equipment in two years in detail. From the overall situation, in 1998, the output of equipment products increased by 1.242 million kilowatts, an increase of 70.0%.

The largest increase in output of each series of products is the traction power supply, with an output of 1.3048 million kilowatts and an increase of about 1.216 million kilowatts. The largest reduction in production was in electrothermal metallurgy and electrification equipment, which reduced production by 145,600 kilowatts.

In addition, two new types of power electronic equipment were added, namely high-voltage direct current transmission and high-frequency power supply, with output of 1037 kW and 405 kW, respectively.

In 1998, China's output of power electronic equipment was 2984117.8 kilowatts, an increase of 1242086.3 kilowatts from 1742031.5 kilowatts in 1997, an increase of 71.3%. Overall, the production and sales of power electronic equipment were good in 1998. Its characteristic is that the performance and technical level of the equipment have been significantly improved. All-digital AC and DC speed regulation equipment, intelligent control electrification rectification equipment, static reactive power compensation equipment, high-voltage electrostatic dust removal equipment and power recovery equipment have entered the application. High-voltage DC transmission, high-frequency power supply and other new equipment have begun production. IGBT devices have been widely used in various power supplies such as pulse width modulated DC switches. It can be seen that in 1998, China's power electronic equipment research and production has also made great progress. Under the current state-owned enterprise reform and many unstable conditions, it is not easy to achieve such achievements. It is believed that with the further improvement of enterprise mechanism and the development of power electronic technology, the output of power electronic equipment in China will increase steadily.

Combined with the current situation in China, the development and market dynamics of power electronic equipment in the next 2 to 3 years can be predicted as follows:

(1) AC and DC drive equipment

AC and DC transmission equipment has developed into relatively mature products in China, and is currently developing in the direction of digitization. According to relevant surveys, China's digital AC and DC transmission equipment market has (60 ~ 70)% and 40% of the shares are occupied by several foreign companies (such as FUJI, ABB, SIEMEMS). The ratio of China's DC drive to AC drive market demand is 6: 4, and it is expected to be 5: 5 to 4: 6 in 2000. Therefore, the average annual domestic demand from 1998 to 2000 was more than 1.2 to 1.8 billion yuan.

(2) AC frequency conversion speed regulation equipment

AC frequency conversion speed control equipment has the characteristics of energy saving and consumption reduction, easy to use, etc. At present, most of the equipment with small and medium capacity (less than 200kVA) is imported. Therefore, this kind of equipment develops rapidly, and its market growth rate exceeds 20%.

(3) Locomotive traction equipment

As a special equipment for electric locomotives and diesel locomotives, locomotive traction equipment will have a great demand in the next few years. In particular, the popularity of transportation vehicles such as subways, trolleybuses, electric cars at stations and airports, and future maglev trains will drive the research and development of traction speed control transmission equipment in terms of efficiency, energy saving, and atmospheric pollution reduction, and will become power electronic equipment A new growth point.

(8) Power electronic equipment for environmental protection

Power electronic equipment for environmental protection, such as power recycling equipment, green lighting, and high-voltage electrostatic dust removal, has achieved significant economic benefits. At present, green computers and green power sources have been proposed, and a new generation of green power electronic products is rapidly developing.

At present, electronic ballasts are a typical product in the high-frequency application of power electronics.
