Schneider aims at smart grid in China

Schneider Electric, an international giant in power transmission and distribution and power generation equipment, aims at the breakthrough in the Chinese market in smart grid investment.

"The intelligent living space business such as switches and circuit breakers has a very small proportion of sales in the Group. Our future growth is even greater in intelligent power distribution, renewable energy generation, smart homes, high-efficiency companies, demand-side Responsive to the smart grid-related business areas such as power management.” Wang Jie, Vice President of Schneider Electric China, said in an interview with reporters that Schneider has already prepared for the in-depth participation in China’s smart grid construction in various fields.

In February of this year, the State Grid proposed that investment in the next 5-10 years will exceed 500 billion yuan for the construction of smart grids. Schneider, GE, Siemens and other international giants have taken over the market one after another.

It is reported that China is Schneider’s second largest market in North America. As early as last year, Schneider consolidated its business in China through acquisitions, formation and other means. In May last year, Schneider relocated its Asia Pacific headquarters to Beijing; in July, Schneider acquired NVC Lighting 9. 2% of the shares. Wang Jie said that the acquisition of NVC is aimed at the management sales channels of NVC, III, and IV markets, and hopes to use this channel to expand the market for Schneider products in China.
