LED lamp prices are reduced by half a year

As the first overseas lighting environment doctor in China's lighting industry, Li Nong, director of the Urban Lighting Planning and Design Institute of Beijing University of Technology, is full of confidence in China's incandescent lamp elimination roadmap. In an interview with reporters, he said that the elimination of incandescent lamps by 2016 should not be a problem.

First of all, the elimination of incandescent bulbs was not achieved overnight, but was phased out in batches. On October 1, 2012, the import and sale of incandescent lamps with general lighting of 100 watts or more is prohibited; on October 1, 2014, imports and sales of incandescent lamps with general lighting of 60 watts or more are prohibited; imports are prohibited from October 1, 2016 and Sales of incandescent lamps with general lighting of 15 watts or more, or adjustments based on mid-term evaluation results. This kind of elimination route left the incandescent company with a time for transformation and left room for consumers to gradually adapt.

Second, the elimination of incandescent lamps, the use of energy-saving lamps is a major trend in China. In the use of incandescent lamps, only 5% of the electrical energy is used for lighting, and the remaining 95% is entirely consumed by heat. The service life will usually not exceed 1000 hours. The use of incandescent lamps has been recognized by the industry as not environmentally friendly, especially in today's global warming. To reduce carbon dioxide emissions from climate warming, the elimination of incandescent lamps is one of the measures.

China's power gap is also growing. China Power [1.76 3.53%] Enterprise Federation issued on October 27th the first three quarters of 2011, the national power supply and demand analysis and forecast report pointed out that the biggest power gap in the country this winter and next spring will reach 30 million to 40 million kilowatts. This conclusion exceeds the previous forecast of 26 million kilowatts by the Electricity Regulatory Commission.

And incandescent lamp alternatives have very strong energy-saving advantages. According to calculations, if the implementation of the incandescent lamp phase-out plan is implemented and high-efficiency products are used instead of incandescent lamps, it is expected to generate 48 billion yuan in electricity and equivalent to the annual output of the Three Gorges Reservoir.

Finally, the price of LED lights in China is expected to decline substantially. Li Nong said that in accordance with the law of development in recent years, the price of LDE lamps in China is falling at a rate that is reduced by half a year. Now the price of bulb LED lamps in China has basically been controlled within 100 yuan/only. By 2016, the price of LED lights will drop to about 20 yuan, which is basically the same as the current price of energy-saving lamps. The survey shows that when the price of LED lights is about 2 times that of energy-saving lamps, urban residents will accept them. Therefore, in accordance with the level of consumption of the residents of our country, the civilian market of LED lamps has a broad prospect.

By 2016, China's LED lighting technology may achieve greater breakthroughs. China's LED technology is only about three years behind the Western countries. After years of development, the LED industry will have a lot of industry accumulation, technology accumulation, talent accumulation and wealth accumulation. These accumulations will show up in the next few years and there will be an outbreak. By then, China's chip technology will appear more obvious progress, independent research and development of light efficiency is no longer a cloud.

In respect of energy-saving lamps, China is the largest producer of energy-saving lamps and most of them are used for export. The price of energy-saving lamps in our country is basically in line with international standards. "The rate of decline in five years will not be too large, about 10% -20%. This price is more suitable for the vast rural market in our country." Li Nong said.
