Canon now expects its full-year operating profit to rise by 52.9% to 350 billion yen ($3.08 billion) by December, up from the previous estimate of 330 billion yen. This marks a strong performance compared to earlier projections. In the third quarter, Canon’s operating profit more than doubled year-over-year, reaching 80.46 billion yen ($709.9 million), surpassing analysts’ average estimate of 69.43 billion yen. The company attributed this growth to increased sales in medical devices, OLED production equipment, and network surveillance cameras. Despite challenges such as declining consumer demand and lower printer sales, Canon continues to show resilience and adaptability in a shifting market. With the growing importance of OLED technology in the display industry, Canon is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in optical innovation and advanced manufacturing solutions.
