On one hand, online videos satisfy most of our video needs, and downloading high-definition movies via the internet is much more convenient. Installing an operating system? Xiao Bian has shown you how to create a bootable USB drive countless times. For data sharing, USB drives and external hard drives are faster and more practical than discs.

Moreover, over the years, Xiao Bian has always thought of CDs as a "fraud." Even lab-grade CDs can become unreadable after just a couple of years. The combination of performance, functionality, and storage capacity makes them unsuitable for today’s era. It’s time to remove these outdated components from future machines or simply eliminate the space they occupy.

Top 4: N-Key Mouse

Does high-end mean having dozens of keys? Many gaming mice advertise with multiple buttons, promising better performance. Xiao Bian was once into RTS games and knows how important control is. But do all those extra buttons really help? At least in Xiao Bian's experience, they don’t — especially when some keys are hard to reach.

In Xiao Bian’s view, a five-button mouse is sufficient. Left, right, and middle click, plus forward and backward buttons, offer enough flexibility for most tasks. For complex macros, a dedicated keyboard is far more efficient than trying to manage everything through the mouse.

Top 3: Single Interface Design

Since Apple launched the MacBook, the trend of minimalistic laptop interfaces has taken off. Some models now have just one or two ports, which looks sleek but raises questions. Is it really practical? These devices force users to carry around a bunch of adapters and cables to connect different peripherals. That’s not only inconvenient but also adds extra costs for users.

Simplification isn’t bad, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of usability. A balance between aesthetics and function is key.

Top 2: Built-in Speakers and USB Ports on Monitors

Xiao Bian must apologize first — he can’t stand built-in speakers on monitors. Why would a monitor need “speakers”? Because HDMI can output both audio and video, but the sound quality is terrible. It’s absurd that users have to suffer for this. Why should they pay for poor audio quality?
