Fangda Zhikong became the first batch of Ali city open platform partners
On the morning of October 12, Ma Yun took to Sina Weibo after performing four songs at the Yunqi Music Festival. His appearance added a touch of entertainment to the otherwise tech-focused event. The post quickly caught attention, with netizens commenting: "It's better to talk than to sing."
This year’s Yunqi Conference was more than just a tech gathering—it was a fusion of technology, music, and sports. In addition to the Yunqi Shrimp Music Festival, the conference also featured a “Tech Expo†showcasing the latest innovations in AI, big data, and more.
The 2017 Hangzhou Yunqi Conference kicked off on October 11 in Yunqi Town and ran for four days. Over 50,000 attendees from 67 countries and regions joined the event, with over 10 million people expected to watch the live stream online.
Throughout the four-day session, the conference focused on 20 cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, big data, new retail, financial technology, and quantum computing. Industry leaders like Alibaba Group Chairman Ma Yun, International Olympic Committee CIO Gerry Pennell, and Chinese Academy of Sciences academician Pan Jianwei were among the over 800 guests who shared insights and ideas.
Ali also used the platform to promote smart city development, inviting industry partners to showcase new technologies and concepts. The company launched the Smart City Open Platform and announced its first batch of industry partners, including Fangda Zhikong, which participated in the on-site signing ceremony.
Fangda Zhikong, as an Alibaba Cloud partner, has developed the "NB-IoT-based Urban Internet of Things Information Platform," integrating multiple systems such as geographic information, smart streetlight control, environmental monitoring, and intelligent alarms. This platform offers flexible networking capabilities and an open architecture, helping city managers collect and manage urban big data efficiently.
Just days before the conference, Fangda Zhikong launched a new smart light pole project in Ningbo, a neighboring city of Hangzhou. These smart poles not only provide lighting and information display but also integrate Wi-Fi, environmental monitoring, security, and electric vehicle charging functions. Future upgrades may include DSRC vehicle monitoring and even support for autonomous driving.
At the event, Alibaba also announced the launch of the Urban Brain 1.0. Much like the moon landing program of the 1960s spurred technological progress, the Urban Brain aims to become a powerful platform for global innovation. As technology continues to evolve, it will reshape how we imagine cities in the coming decades.
The collaboration between Fangda Zhikong and Alibaba’s Smart City Open Platform is set to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen their partnership, paving the way for a smarter future. Together, they are working toward building better, more connected cities for everyone.
