2017 China Integrated Circuit Talent Development Forum invites you to participate in Nanjing 9.8
Following the release of the "National Integrated Circuit Industry Development Promotion Outline" by the State Council in June 2014, China's integrated circuit industry has embarked on a path of rapid growth. This policy document outlines short-, medium-, and long-term goals for the industry's development, emphasizing increased investment and fostering self-reliance to ensure robust progress. However, the sector faces significant challenges, particularly in terms of talent acquisition. With fewer than 300,000 professionals currently in the field, China is projected to face a shortfall of 700,000 skilled workers by 2020. This situation presents both a challenge and an opportunity for all semiconductor companies.
In response to these needs, the 2017 China Integrated Circuit Talent Development Forum was organized in Nanjing on September 8th, aiming to strengthen the industry’s talent pool and facilitate its sustainable development. Hosted by the Nanjing Jiangbei New District Management Committee and co-organized by the Nanjing Integrated Circuit Industry Service Center (ICisC) and Nanjing Software Park, with additional support from Moore Elite and numerous media outlets, the event brought together industry leaders and experts to discuss key issues.
The day began with a welcome speech from a representative of the Jiangbei New District followed by a ceremony appointing consultants to the ICisC Expert Committee and unveiling the ICisC talent training and service platform. This was accompanied by the signing of several talent-related projects. Subsequent keynote speeches covered topics such as educational integration, human resource management strategies in volatile environments, and the demand for managerial talent in the Industry 4.0 era. Dr. Xu Wei also provided insights into the current state of talent development within China’s IC industry.
For those attending, the venue at the Nanjing International Expo Center can be easily reached via subway, with Line 10’s Yuantong Station being just a 750-meter walk away. The event welcomed participants from various departments of semiconductor firms, including representatives from leading companies like MediaTek, Micron, Veeco, and many others.
To register, interested individuals were encouraged to follow the Moore Elite WeChat account and submit their details through a dedicated form. The organizing team would then confirm participation within three working days.
This forum not only addressed immediate concerns but also laid the groundwork for future collaboration and talent cultivation, ensuring that China remains competitive in the global IC market.
