LED industry giant establishes Zhaga alliance to promote the standardization of LED lighting products

Osram, Philips, Panasonic, Toshiba and other lighting giants established the Zhaga Consortium, a cooperative organization in early 2010, to standardize LED lighting products. The alliance defines various standards for the light engine interface, which will make it easier for manufacturers to purchase LED lighting components, and the threshold for entering the industry will be relatively low.

The Zhaga Consortium will specify the specifications for the exterior and lamp holders of LED lighting; in addition, the thermal interface related to the heat dissipation path, the electrical interface for controlling the power supply, grounding, and insulation requirements, as well as the optical interface related to the light and color, etc., All belong to the scope of standardization. However, due to differences in lighting performance depending on regions and countries, standards have not been set for conditions such as life expectancy and quality.

Zhaga Alliance member Guanglei Technology said that the LED lighting industry competitors, the promotion of standardization will help improve the overall level of technology, but also the key to the future popularity of LED lighting products. However, the company also pointed out that the standardized norms are dominated by big manufacturers, and it is bound to have an impact on some small-scale and slow-developing companies in the industry.
