Illuminance and brightness do not all represent the quality of road lighting. At present, road lighting is dominated by high-pressure sodium lamps. With the entry of LEDs, lighting quality parameters will be further refined. In order to improve the road safety, the identification is based on the brightness. Now even the brightness is the same, the color is different. It is also possible to distinguish the object from the road surface, thereby improving the overall road lighting quality and safety factor. Therefore, I think LED street lights can do lower brightness than previous sodium lamps and theoretically achieve the same recognition rate.
