Automotive LIN Bus Transceiver ATA6628 /ATA6630

Atmel's ATA6628 is a fully integrated LIN bus transceiver that is compatible with the LIN2.0, LIN2.1 and SAEJ2602-2 standards. It features a low-dropout regulator with 3.3V/50mA output and a window watchdog. The ATA6630 has the same features as the ATA6628, but it uses a 5V/50mA regulator. The regulator can use a 50mA current source, and the output current can be increased with an external NPN transistor. This combination of chips makes it possible to develop inexpensive, simple and powerful master-slave nodes for LIN bus systems.

The ATA6628/ATA6630 is used to handle low speed data communications in vehicles. Improved slope control on the LIN drive ensures secure data communication up to 20kBaud. Sleep mode and silent mode guarantee extremely low current consumption.
